Models
One very important aspect of architectural design is modelling. After all you get a feel for the space, the building, and the environment. This year in drafting especially we have concentrated on making models. This not only tested our abilities to work as team but also to finish a task in an allotted period of time. Some of the projects that we worked on included a re-designing of the Jacksonville Landing, a dry line for the city of St. Augustine, and a lego model of a "story building"- a building that fits into a certain culture around the world.
This model is the fruition of a short individual project. Our task was to design a fifty house tiny home neighborhood that caters to veterans who are trying to reintegrate into society. After doing some research I made a brochure and a small mock-up of the tiny house to indicate a rough outline of windows and walls, as well as stud placement. The project was a really great experience in problem solving as you had to imagine the occupants living in the house rather than just yourself.
this chair was an all year project involving the production of an environmentally friendly chair design flowing the lead of famous architects such as Frank Gehry. This char stands at 37" with a seat width of 11" and a seat height of 23". It sis ergonomically made to follow the contours of the body and is intended for use in Dorms.
